PENGARUH MODEL PROBLEM BASED LEARNING TERHADAP PRESTASI BELAJAR MATEMATIKA SISWA PADA SUB POKOK BAHASAN KONSEP TURUNAN DAN TURUNAN FUNGSI ALJABAR KELAS XI IPA SMA NEGERI 5 KUPANG TAHUN AJARAN 2014/2015
ABSTRACT THE EFFECT OF PROBLEM BASED LEARNING ON MATHEMATICS STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT IN SUB SUBJECT DERIVATIVES CONCEPT FUNCTION AND DERIVATIVES OF ALGEBRA GRADE XI SMA NEGERI 5 KUPANG ON 2014/2015 ACADEMIC YEAR
The problem in this study is student’s difficulty on relating mathematics into daily life situation so that their learning achievement far from satisfaction. This study aims to determine whether or not the effect of problem based learning model to student’s learning achievement in sub subject of derivative concept and derivative function of algebra grade XI IPA 4 SMA Negeri 5 Kupang on 2014/2015 academic year. Samples were students of class XI IPA 4 who taught by using problem based learning model which contains 29 people. The kind of this research method is pre-experiment with one group pretest- posttest design. The design use one group which is given a pretest, before do the treatment. After done the treatment the group will be give a posttest. So that, the result is more accurate due to comparing the result before the treatment with after the treatment. The data used in this study is the pretest and posttest of the sample class. Data were analyzed using SPSS version 22.0 and manual analysis. Prior to testing hypotheses, test prerequisites using the data value pretest and posttest to see the data distribution of each test. From the analysis of the data obtained pretest value Sig. (2-tailed) = 0,200 > 0,05 and Dhitung = 0,125 < Dtabel = 0,246 then accept Ho which means normally distributed data. From the analysis of the data obtained posttest value Sig. (2-tailed) = 0,200 > 0,05 and Dhitung = 0,099 < Dtabel = 0,246 then accept Ho which means normally distributed data. Next calculate the average difference value and pretest posttest to test the hypothesis by using a paired sample t-test. Having analyzed the data obtained by the Sig. (2-tailed) = 0,000 < 0,05 and thitung = 16,675 > ttabel = 2,04 then Ha accepted and Ho rejected. So it is concluded that there is significant influence model of problem-based learning in mathematics achievement of students in the subject sub derivative and derivative concepts of algebraic functions of class XI IPA 4 SMA Negeri 5 Kupang academic year 2014/2015.
Therefore, the authors suggest for teachers to use the model of problem-based learning as one of the models in the classroom according to the material that will be taught for more meaningful learning.
